Who hasn’t played this magnificent game of marbles? Who hasn’t seen or collected marbles during their younger years?

This humble little sphere made so eye-catching was so much sought-after to many of us during our younger years. All those hours spent at the park with friends and family playing Pilies, stashing up on our desires.

This colourful passion, this humble addiction that brings numerous pictures to millions of people’s minds right now, is the reason we created this page.

Through our experiences, we will try to share our knowledge, bring to life that warm buzzing feeling, the spirit of this game.

We will give you instructions on how to play numerous marble games and most importantly, you will have the opportunity to start your marble collection with our remarkably low prices.

Some of you might be already nostalgic by now so, I’m moving faster and I’m travelling you on a little journey.

From our very little ages, we were collecting and playing marbles or “pilies” as we call them in Cyprus. My three brothers and I, born in Limassol in the mid-’80s are still addicted to marbles. I never forget that feeling when I won my first marbles at the nearest park to my grandma’s house.

About three decades ago, trying to buy marbles was astronomically challenging. When someone managed to get their hands on something new, the feeling was “hey, look! Our neighbour brought something from another planet!”. Sometimes, we used to buy marbles from our neighbours or friends or relatives. Each marble had its value (according to its size and rarity), and we were exchanging marbles based on that value.

But yet again, I cannot describe well enough that feeling, the rush of excitement and happiness you get when you win your first game. It’s like the flowers have bloomed, the Spring has spang and at the same time, Christmas came way too early 🙂 All of that thrill, positive energy is packed so wonderfully into that little glass marble. Sometimes white, sometimes pearly, with sparkles, swirls and colour combinations your imagination cannot comprehend.

My brothers and I only played the “classic”, Pilies. But there are tons and tons of games out there that we discovered from around the world and we have listed them here. Believe me, you must try all of them! At least give a chance to our Cypriot version of the game and we guarantee you will not be disappointed.
